Active U is back with a new and improved exercise tracker to help the university community stay moving in the new year. Registration is now open for MHealthy’s 12-week physical activity challenge.

For more than 15 years, Active U has encouraged the entire U-M community to get moving towards the same goal – being active.

“Physical activity is a great way to take care of yourself and can help you manage stress, boost your energy and improve your mood,” says Colleen Greene, senior wellness coordinator for MHealthy.

The program is designed for every fitness level and encourages getting moving at least 120 minutes per week. All employees, students, retirees and employee spouses/OQAs can join. Participants can register as an individual or join a team for extra motivation and support.

Those who have participated in Active U over the years will notice several improvements for 2021, including:

  • Easier, more user-friendly tracking
  • Sync to more wearables, watches (now including Apple Watch) and apps
  • Earn digital swag like Zoom backgrounds

These updates are a result of Active U’s move to the new MHealthy Portal, powered by Asset Health. The new portal consolidates many of the health and well-being services offered through the university onto a single platform for a seamless, one-stop experience. Those who are logging into the MHealthy Portal for the first time may need to go through a first-time login process before registering for Active U.

Tracking activity minutes in Active U starts January 25. Register and choose to participate as an individual or join a team no later than Feb. 1.

Learn more and register for Active U by Feb. 1.
