February’s Free Cooking Classes: Heart Beets and Treats

Learn to make delicious, healthier foods at MHealthy’s free virtual cooking classes. Registration is now open for February classes. Sign up for one class or both. Register by 10 a.m. February 1. 

February is American Heart Month. This month’s classes focus on two heart-healthy ingredients: beets and dark chocolate!  

February 6 Class: Give Me a Beet 
Time: 6 – 6:45 p.m.

Bright and beautiful beets are bursting with benefits. Studies show that they can help relieve inflammation, reduce blood pressure, promote heart health, boost brain function and enhance athletic performance! What's not to love? In this class, learn an easy way to prepare pickled beets and roast them for a tasty soup or salad. 

February 13 Class: Chocolate for Your Heart
Time: 6 – 6:45 p.m

Savor and enjoy dark chocolate while also possibly reducing stress, strengthening your immune system and improving heart health. In this class, learn to prepare creamy chocolate pudding and super chocolaty, chocolate chip cookies. Perfect for enjoying a bit of dark chocolate almost every day!

MHealthy hosts new cooking classes each month. Registration opens a few weeks before the first class date – sign up to be notified when registration opens for new classes.

MHealthy Cooking Classes support the growing field of culinary medicine. It explores the links between food and health, applying the foundations of nutritional science side-by-side with traditional medical interventions in clinical care.
