February is American Heart Month. This series will focus on cooking delicious, heart healthy foods that can help to reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease:
- February 3: Go for Greens – Learn to prepare dishes that include dark green veggies like broccoli, kale, and spinach. These pack a mighty punch of nutrients that strengthen your heart and battle many health issues.
- February 10: Love Chocolate – YES! It’s true – dark chocolate has been shown to help reduce blood pressure, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce the risk of heart disease and decrease cognitive decline.
- February 17: Fish is Fabulous – Fish has been shown to be great for your joints, brain, skin, immune system and heart. Learn to create tasty dishes loaded with muscle building protein and rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
New Cooking Class Series Each Month
MHealthy plans to host a different cooking class series each month. Registration will open a few weeks before the first class date.
These classes support the growing field of culinary medicine, which explores the links between food and health, applying the foundations of nutritional science side-by-side with traditional medical interventions in clinical care.
