Sleep Better in Eight Weeks

Most of us will spend about one-third of their lives asleep. The “Good Night, Sleep Right” challenge is designed to ensure most of this time is quality rest.

Registration for the eight-week online challenge is now open. Participants earn points for completing simple tasks that improve sleep and support better rest. Among the habit-forming tasks are activities like limiting screen time before bed, creating a sleep-friendly environment, or setting time aside to relax or exercise.

Logging sleep-related activities starts March 20. The goal is to earn at least 40 points over the course of eight weeks.

The Good Night, Sleep Right Challenge is open to active, benefits-eligible faculty and staff and their U-M health plan enrolled spouse/other qualified adult.

Learn more and register for Good Night, Sleep Right by March 27.

Sleep resources to prepare for Daylight Saving Time

Good Night, Sleep Right coincides with Sleep Awareness Week and the beginning of Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 12. Not only do most in the U.S. lose an hour of sleep, but they are also more vulnerable to sleep deprivation. MHealthy’s website includes sleep related programs, resources and tips to help you adjust in the days before and after DST.

If you would like to learn more about your health and well-being, including whether sleep could be a concern, the confidential health questionnaire is also available. It can help you identify what well-being areas are thriving and which may need attention. Active, benefits-eligible faculty and staff who complete the health questionnaire by May 31, 2023, will also earn a $75 reward.

Good Night, Sleep Right and the health questionnaire are available on the MHealthy Portal, powered by Asset Health.
