U-M's Medicare Advantage Plans and Prescription Drug Plan cover approved vaccinations as a preventive benefit. Understanding where they are covered is important due to Medicare rules.
Medicare Advantage health plans cover COVID-19, pneumonia, flu, and hepatitis B vaccinations at your provider's office. All other vaccinations administered at your provider's office are not covered.
The U-M Prescription Drug Plan covers all approved vaccinations, including those listed above, as well as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-recommended travel vaccinations at no-cost when administered at in-network pharmacies.
Please remember to provide your Prime Therapeutics prescription drug plan ID card when receiving vaccinations at a pharmacy.
Read the "Vaccine Coverage at Physician Offices and Pharmacies" pdf to view details regarding which vaccines are covered, and where you can receive them.
Travel Vaccines
The University Health Service Travel Health Clinic, located on the Ann Arbor campus, is available to U-M faculty, staff, students and retirees for immunization, prescription drug and travel guidance.
