Approximately 345 employees across Michigan Medicine and University Health Services are members of the United Physician Assistants of Michigan Medicine (UPAMM). PAs are medical professionals who diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and often serve as a patient’s principal health care provider.
UPAMM members play a critical role in the university's patient care mission. They receive competitive pay, a benefits package including health care and prescription drug coverage, a 2-to-1 match to their retirement savings plan, and tuition and professional development support.
The bargaining unit has been recognized by the university since June 2020, and a new contract was ratified June 2, 2021. Information and updates can be found on the Michigan Medicine Human Resources website.
