Martha Rhodes
Podiatry Fellowship Administrator/Admin Specialist
Martha Rhodes is a GME Fellowship Program Administrator and the Admin Specialist for the Podiatry section. She is passionate about administrative and strategic work. This is her 3rd year on the Striving for Well-being team and worked on the wellbeing resources project. She has strengths in the mental illness realm and works to eliminate the stigma of mental illness. Martha enjoys being outdoors, time with family and her grandson, and is a foodie.

Matt Melvin
Administrative Assistant Senior
Matt received his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Albion College in 2013 and joined the UM team in 2015. He has been with the Department of PM&R from the start and currently provides administrative support for research and clinical faculty within the department. As an avid runner, he has loved being a part of the Strive for Well-Being team to help share his passion for physical activity.

Maureen Muysenberg (Team Advisor)
Security Lieutenant
Maureen received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and her graduate degree from the University of Michigan. She has worked for DPSS, Michigan Medicine Security for over 20 years. She is active in workplace violence initiatives, community outreach, and public speaking on various topics. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and watching all sports, playing sports, and traveling to water parks around the midwest.

Meaghan Haas (Advisor)
Benefits Manager, Long-Term Disability Program
Meaghan Haas is a Benefits Manager for the university’s Long-Term Disability (LTD) Program serving the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses as well as Michigan Medicine. She earned her degree in human resource management from Michigan State University as well as her MBA from Walsh College. She has over 20 years experience in payroll, benefits and the disability claims management space. Meaghan served as Project Manager for the university’s Smoke-Free Initiative and LTD Program Review. Meaghan is a first year member/advisor on Voices.

Mike Krajcik
Facilities Coordinator
Mike Krajcik is the Facilities Coordinator at the Life Sciences Institute. He began his career at Michigan Medicine in Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychology where he provided clinical care for 11 years. He then moved to campus where he worked at the School of Public Health before his move to LSI. He holds a Master of Education in Positive Coaching and a Graduate Certificate in Positive Psychology. He is honored to be serving a third year as part of the Striving for Well-Being Team.

Mindy Swarthout
Administrative Specialist, Office of the Staff Ombuds
Mindy joined Michigan Medicine in 2019 and moved to the Office of the Staff Ombuds in 2023. Prior to joining the university, Mindy had more than 20 years of human resources experience where she served as a business partner focused on employee relations, recruitment, training and development, and coaching. Mindy earned a BA in Human Resources Management from Baker College. She is a first-year member of the Striving for Well-being team and excited to support others through the MHealthy philosophy of well-being.

Senior HR Representative
Missy Durante (she/her) is a Senior HR Representative with LSA HR. She has worked for the university for ten years in a variety of capacities in Student Life, LSA, and ITS. Missy completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and a masters degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from Eastern Michigan University. Missy loves working for the University of Michigan and is passionate about employee well-being. This is her first year on Voices of the Staff. She loves spending time with her family, reading and bullet journaling.

Safety Representative
Rachel Christensen (she/her) is the Safety Representative for Michigan Dining in the division of Student Life. She completed her undergraduate and masters degrees at Michigan State University. She has been working at the University for a decade, with a passion for creating a culture of safety in the workplace. Rachel is in her first year on the Well-being network team. In her spare time, Rachel likes cooking and spending time outdoors.

Sadé Wilson
Program Manager, Education Department at UM-Flint
Sadé Wilson is the Quality Assurance Coordinator in the Education Department at the University of Michigan-Flint. She received a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership - Higher Education/Student Affairs and Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology and Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. Her passion is to empower minoritized, under-represented, and first-generation students. She props up the students who struggle, she celebrates with those who succeed, and she keeps in touch with alumni offering continued encouragement.

Senior Investigator
Sam is a Senior Investigator in the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office (ECRT) where she reviews and takes appropriate action on concerns of discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and sexual misconduct. Sam received her BA from Lourdes University and her JD from the University of Toledo College of Law. In her free time, Sam enjoys spending time outdoors and cooking. Sam is a second-year member on the Striving for Wellbeing team.

Shardé Brandy
HR Supervisor
Shardé Brandy (she/her) is an HR Supervisor in the division of Student Life. She completed her undergraduate and graduate programs at Michigan State University. She has over 10 plus years of experience in Human Resources. Shardé is in her first year in Voices of Staff where she participates on the Striving for Well-being network team. Shardé is also an active Yoga/Sound Bath Teacher and specializes in other mindfulness activities.

Sheryl Kubiak
Executive Secretary
Sheryl was hired as the Executive Secretary for the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Student Life (EMSL) in 2016 on the Dearborn Campus. Since then, there have been numerous changes in the Enrollment Management Division, including separating from Student Life. Sheryl now assists all 8 departments in Enrollment Management, and enjoys the variety! She also works out of the UM-Dearborn Chancellor’s office one to two times a week. Sheryl is the current Staff Senate Chair in Dearborn. She is very grateful to be a 3rd year member of Voices of the Staff, and especially happy to give a voice to the Dearborn staff. She loves spending time with her twin grandsons.
